When I first heard Gravediggaz' Six Feet Deep it was love at first listen. It turned my drug addled mind back to hip hop for the first time in years. At the time I think The Misfits were the top of listening food chain and this album was just the gateway drug I needed to embrace hip hop again after forsaking it for so long. Sure it has stellar production by RZA and Prince Paul but it was probably the subject matter that immediately grabbed my attention, demonic possession, bad trips, suicide, murder were all just right for my tastes. Oh Horrorcore, you could have been fun but you crashed and burned so quickly. RIP.
Darktown Strutters have been burning up the net with their devilish vibe ever since 20JFG dropped them on their unsuspecting readers earlier this summer. It's fitting we revisit these possessed Texans with you now as we celebrate October Armageddon. Voted #1 "lethal injection" song by Texas death row inmates, I couldn't imagine better music to be snuffed out to.

1977's The Demon Seed is a must see science-fiction thriller. An adaptation of an early Dean Koontz novel, the movie explores the dark side of artificial intelligence and what it means to entrust our lives to computers. A pretty ground breaking plot considering the time in which it was produced. It also features one of the best "trip out" sequences ever, rivaling the "To Jupiter and Beyond the Infinite" sequence at the end of 2001: A Space Odyssey. Go find this movie now, you'll thank us.

You might remember we shared Chicago's Gatekeeper with you last Halloween. Well, they're back with more hi-energy, Carpenter-esque horror disco with artwork by Mr. Donson and a video by yours truly. Kompakt's Jon Berry was kind enough to include us on this project for his new label, Fright Records. "GATEKEEPER - Optimus Maximus" will be the first entry for this up and coming label with a release date set for October 26th. Couldn't ask for a better time to release this slasher classic. Expect Fright to keep killing it!!!
