Love of My Life

What can I say? I grew up watching Elvira on TV, saw Mistress of the Dark in the theater (and many times thereafter) and designated her co-mascot of ARAWA long ago (she lives at the bottom of the page). Her combination of corny one-liners, schlock horror and titillation (ahem) just doesn't get old with me. And seriously, Elvira Mistress of the Dark is the best movie ever.

Trailer...

Featurette on the movie with some really good one liners ("I was the only girl in the yearbook that had a picture that folded out")...

Some bloopers from her TV show...

And the finale of Mistress of the Dark, where she shows yet another of her skills...

On top of it all she's got great taste in tunes. Heres my favorite track from her compilation, Elvira's Vinyl Macabre, The Bollock Brothers new wave gem Horror Movies.

Sean, man, my grandfather Cranky (really his name) had a cut-out Elvira poster next to his plastic Xmas tree in his living room. He never took either down for over 25 years. There's more to that story, but I just wanted to give you a mental image of my childhood and bloodline. wicked post man
