Simon's Quest
I never got into the first Castlevania. Sorry. It just seemed fucking impossible. One skeleton hits you, you bounce into another and bam bam, you're dead. But Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest? That was my game. It was a new take, incorporating role playing elements and the option to explore the world as you liked as opposed to linear level based combat while retaining the dark and spooky atmosphere. Woah totally geeking out. Anyway, I always loved the soundtrack and obviously some other people did too.
