I ♥ Agnetha

Earlier this month Discodust posted three "diva" edits from Mindless Boogie up and coming edit-ors Villa. A great trio of edits of Tina Turner, Anita Meyer and my favorite of the three of course, a nearly nine minute filtered out rework of the ultimate gap toothed superstar, Agnetha Fältskog of ABBA. Umm... love her. Since then I've been heavily revisiting that edit, the original track and the album it all came from, also entitled Wrap Your Arms Around Me. That record being Agnetha's her first solo outing after ABBA's unfortunate demise. Wah.

Enjoy the super-schmaltz. Cuz no one can do it like a Swede.

Agnetha Fältskog- Wrap Your Arms Around Me
Villa- Agnetha (via Discodust)

and since I like you guys so much, another cut from that album, an AM gold, super hazy disco ballad that I just adore. That bassline equals heaven for me.

Agnetha Fältskog- Stay

Reminds me a bit of Secret Service's Let Us Dance Just A Little Bit More. Also from Sweden I think.

just for a bit of balance, to be fair... you really should check out frida's solo single from 1982:

listen to those drums - no prizes for guessing which english popstar/drummer produced the record. you can even hear him on the vox in the chorus (1:30). pretty amazing heavy 80s pop.

Remember hearing at Horsemeat Disco a couple of years back, personal favourite. Frida's track is simply amazing! Another favourite x
