Bigger

Somehow Lifelike slipped this one by me a few months back. Sneaky bastard. Classic Lifelike production with just a touch of funky vocoder? Um, yes please.

Pyramids

Daft Punk was crazy amazing. I'm not saying anything else because we're all getting tired of hearing about it and have probably seen it. Anyway, my friend Marc sent me this video of one of my heroes, Gary Numan, doing his thing live with a surprisingly similar setup to our favorite (French) robots. Wish I could have seen this one too.

Use It

Compuphonic has been mentioned here before and probably will be again. He's done me no wrong yet. This time he teams up with Cosy Mozzy (who I hope changes his name) for a warm glide through open spaces, reminding me of Menace & Lifelike raised on pop trance, not disco dance.

The Whole 12 Inches Vol 5

I warned you, so heres a little more Elvio Piero for your Italo lovin asses. Released in 1984, this one's a charming medley of classic musical numbers. Sounds cheesy right? Well it is. The instrumental features the kind of Casio drum rolls Italo lovers know and love and a nice little synth vibraphone solo. Watch out now.

Obey the Pyramid

My apologies for the lack of posts, but my life is engulfed with Daft Punk madness. First LA now SF. Expect a (semi) triumphant return next weekish. In the meantime I highly recommend U-Tern's "I Love Daft Punk" mix. It's definitely holding me over between shows.

So Good

The title says it all. The first two minutes of this song are the two best minutes of my life.

I Confess

Let It Happen

Just the idea of new Lindstrom is enough to make me feel all warm and stoned inside. On his newest he reunites with fellow tripper Solale to transform Vangelis' 1973 psychedelic summer jam "Let it Happen" into a meandering synth workout. Set your phasers to "Woah, man" and don't sleep on that Beatfanatic mix. Its 12 minutes of epicness.

In case you're interested, the above diagram shows the orbit of Vangelis (a minor planet named after the one and only) in relation to the major planets in the inner solar system. You know you're a cosmic dude when you've got planets named after you.

Krew Cut

I think this is the best thing Ed's done in a few years.

Plastic House

Funny Names

This is comin at ya straight out of '03 which probably doesn't excite anyone. Not new, not old, not cool, right? Whatevs. This is Nordic disco heat that may have slipped past your radar. Send Olav and Sideshow Jogge some Myspace love and tell them to make some new shit already. Jeez.

I Like Mike

This will be my last try to make everyone love Mike Oldfield as much as I do.

I Want to Boooogie Tonight

Dont trust that photo. Despite looking like Paula Poundstone's secret lover, Anneclaire knows how to get down. Madonna and Nile Rodgers' new boogie blueprint hooks up with Italo and produces a heavily accented, yellow jumpsuited offspring. Said child goes on to wanting a lot of things. Hear them all listed here in song format! Fun!

Never heard the original but this remix by Elvio Pieri gets me going every time. More from Elvio coming soon...
